Kellerei Girlan was founded in 1923 and still works the way a good cooperative does: roughly 200 member families, about 220 hectares of vineyard on the slopes around Girlan and Eppan, one cellar to bring it all together. The scale is collective, the plots are small and family-held — which is rather the point of wine in the Überetsch.
