Laas is known for two things: the white marble quarried above the village and the apricots that ripen on the terraces below it. Bäckerei Preiss is the bakery on the Vinschgauerstraße, the sort of stop that turns a morning on the Vinschgau cycle path into something better — bread and baked goods over the counter, eaten outside while the valley wakes up.
Racks right by the terrace and they refilled all four of our bottles without being asked.
Fast service, we were back on the road in twenty minutes.
