About this route
Langenlois calls itself Austria's biggest wine town and then proves it with a hillside of dry-stone terraces you can ride around in a morning. The Heiligenstein is the reason: a red-brown prehistoric rock that gives Riesling a smoky edge no other vineyard here manages. The loop climbs just enough to earn the descent back into the Kamp valley, where the bakeries still sell poppyseed strudel by weight.
