About this route
The Sella massif is a single block of pale rock, and this loop simply goes round it: Gardena, Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella, each pass a set of hairpins with a hut at the summit. It is the hardest ride on Bikes & Bites and the least negotiable — 1,780 metres of climbing, no shortcuts once you are over the second pass. What makes it bearable is the food chain along the way: barley soup at Frara, Ladin turtres in Alta Badia, Graukäse on the way home.
